Keep cycling and mind the mud

Friend and I have managed to keep up our weekly bike rides over the last few months despite the bouts of cold, wet and windy weather.

On a recent route from Gilwern round the country lanes and into Crickhowell we then ended up on the Monmouth -Brecon canal towpath. The fun soon started when we hit the mud baths; amazingly we managed to keep upright and avoided a dunking in the canal. A couple of bad stretches had been really churned up and we came home not looking too pretty!

Hope the British Waterways authority start some maintenance on the towpaths as I know a big race is planned to cycle the total length of the canal towpath in celebration of the canals 200th anniversary.
